View of Roper Lake

Roper Lake State Park, six miles south of Safford, in southeastern Arizona, can be both inviting and invigorating. At 3,130 feet, it is a great place to swim, fish, picnic, hike and soak away your aches and pains in a natural hot mineral spring. The park covers four hundred acres with two sections: Roper Lake itself and, three miles south, Dankworth Pond.

There is drinking water available and garbage facilities including a dump station. There are modern restrooms with hot showers, tables, and a large ramada with a group fire ring and bbq grills. There is boating (no gas power), fishing, swimming, a natural hot tub, miles of hiking trails and lots of wildlife viewing.
